These are awesome!
A year ago director Frankie Latina (who made the awesome MODUS OPARANDI from 2009) contacted me an commissioned some art that he wanted to have in his new movie, SKINNY DIP. It was rather exciting, because some of my fave actors were gonna star in it (Danny Trejo, Sasha Grey, Pam Grier). He wanted me to design and illustrate the front and back cover for a “classic looking” adult magazine that a character would be reading.
“It won’t really look like an ACTUAL 1970s porn magazine, Frankie.” I told him. “They weren’t often illustrated on the front. They had photo covers. It’ll look like an old magazine through the eyes of Robin Bougie. Is that ok?”
“That’s PERFECT”, Latina told me. “Just do what you do, and have the magazine called ‘Hot Chocolate!’”
Sadly, Frankie just emailed me and told me that financing has fallen though, the movie will never be made, and to go ahead and share the art with you guys. The IMDB page is up for the time being, anyhow, so you can see some details. Woulda been an awesome movie, I think.
I got paid some of that swweeeeet movie-industry money, though. So there is that at least. ^_^
